They’re not yet ready to completely dismantle Obama Care, but Congress is steadily moving the ball in that direction. Last week, Congressional republicans unveiled a 19-page Policy Brief and Resources Report that establishes the parameters they will use in repealing and replacing the signature accomplishment of the Obama administration. The document, formally released to the GOP House Caucus by House Speaker Paul Ryan and new Health & Human Services Secretary (and former congressman) Tom Price, dramatically expands health care tax credits and the use of health savings accounts. In addition, it promises to strengthen Medicaid for the most vulnerable and put more of the health care onus back on the states by utilizing state innovation grants. More details will be coming over the next several weeks.
