AMHERST, Mass (WWLP)

There may be hope for us yet as the liberal bastion of Amherst, Massachusetts, officially voted down a proposal to establish a local minimum wage of $15/hour at its Town Meeting 2 nights ago.  The proposal, initiated by a UMass student, would have cost the town itself (which is home to several colleges in addition to UMass) up to $200,000 in increased wages.
