Restaurant Performance Index Slips in December

The National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Performance Index (RPI), a monthly composite survey which tracks the health of the nation’s restaurant industry, dropped in December for the first time in three months.  The index slipped by 0.6 points from its November levels, but still signifies expansion within key industry indicators.

Dunkin’ Q4 Results Strong

Our DDIFO restaurant analyst advises from the Dunkin’ earnings call yesterday that the company’s Q4 and 2013 earnings were strong.  Q4 earnings were $.03 above consensus and revenue also slightly above consensus.  Dunkin’ US comp sales were +3.5%, and the company noted both improved ticket and transactions were responsible.  You can review a detailed summary…
