The Small Business Administration (SBA) is celebrating Small Business Week the week after next, April 30 – May 5 with several free webinars on an array of subjects for small business men and women throughout the course of the week. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals clarified an issue on the application of the Family Medical Leave Act earlier this month with its decision regarding an employee not following company policy relative to FMLA. The employee exceeded his FMLA leave on several occasions and neglected to call-in as required when he was requesting additional FMLA days because of a medical condition.
