Having just advised of the NLRB General Counsel and her strong unionizing proclivities, you should also be aware that the campaign to pass the Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act) and implement its many egregious provisions is now in full swing. Just two weeks ago, 17 Attorneys General from around the country – all democrats – signed onto this letter sent to the leadership of the U.S. Senate urging swift passage of the PRO Act – it has already passed the US House of Representatives. Led by California Attorney General Robert Bonta, the letter points to the dramatic reduction in union membership across the country and blames the loss of union appeal on “corporate opposition to organizing” as well as “aggressive anti-union campaigns”. In their letter, the 17 signatories highlight a drop in union membership from 27 percent of the American workforce in 1979 to just 12 per cent today. Predictably, their missive is silent on the steady history of ever-increasing union dues and left-wing political advocacy by organized labor along with the historical drumbeat of corruption within the nation’s unions. Through our affiliation with the Coalition of Franchisee Associations, we will be heading to Congress in just another two weeks to lobby in opposition to the PRO Act and other anti-business proposals. You can join us in the Nation’s Capital to advocate for your own interests and those of franchisees across the country on September 14th at the Coalition of Franchisee Association’s CFA Lobby Day.
