She has said she won’t budge on a $15 per hour minimum wage bill she’s sponsored in Baltimore, so Councilwoman Mary Pat Clark introduced an amendment last week to exempt all businesses with 50 or fewer employees or less than $500,000 in gross annual revenue from the mandate.  Ostensibly, she is looking for a way around Council President Bernard “Jack” Young, who weeks ago announced that any minimum wage in excess of $11.50/hour would be too high for businesses in Baltimore and he would not support it.  Both sides hope to secure enough votes to prevail and there was a possibility that the ordinance would be voted on at another working session held yesterday, July 28.  We were unable to get any updates on what transpired at that working session.  Stay tuned!
