Last night from the White House, President Biden announced that through the US Department of Labor’s Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA), he will be requiring that all American employers with 100 or more employees mandate that their employees be vaccinated against the coronavirus or produce a negative COVID-19 test on a weekly basis. In announcing his Path Out Of The Pandemic, which will impact more than 80 million American workers, President Biden identified Vaccinating the Unvaccinated and Increasing Testing & Requiring Masking as two of the six-prongs his administration is finalizing as an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS). Violations of the vaccine mandate can cost employers up to $14,000 in fines per employee! The remaining efforts include Protecting the Vaccinated; Keeping Schools Safely Open; Protecting the Economic Recovery and Improving Care for those Infected with COVID-19. Several governors have already indicated that they will be challenging the mandate through the courts.
