SAN ANTONIO – Two of Blue MauMau’s reporters, Janet Sparks and Don Sniegowski, were recognized Thursday night by the American Association of Franchisees & Dealers (AAFD) with a chairman’s award for investigative news coverage that help reveal total quality franchising. The Association, a coalition of franchisee associations, is dedicated to improving the rights of some 50,000 franchisees that it represents.

Chris Schmitz introduced Don Sniegowski, while executive editor Nancy Weingartner of Franchise Times introduced the contributions and history of Janet Sparks in reporting franchise news. Ms. Sparks is currently vacationing in Hawaii. Ms. Weingartner and Don Sniegowski, editor for Blue MauMau, accepted the award jointly on behalf of Ms. Sparks.

The AAFD awarded Chris Schmitz (pictured) with a Total Quality Franchising award for leadership and contributions to the association’s members. Chris is president of the Meineke Dealers Association and an AAFD board member. Known as Mufflerman on Blue MauMau, Schmitz was introduced by Ontario attorney Michael Webster, who is a board member of AAFD and a frequent contributor and occasional reporter for Blue MauMau.
