Small business owners, some of whom are just getting their business back on its feet, are a bit more optimistic about the future while at the same time, equally concerned about inflation and increasing operating costs. A Job Creators Network Foundation poll, the June Monthly Monitor, released last week showed that only 9% reported recovering completely from the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Further, 32% named inflation as their biggest or second-biggest concern; while operating costs were the biggest or second-biggest concern of a full 24%. In other findings from the survey, 87% of those surveyed are concerned with states raising taxes on unemployment insurance and workers compensation insurance. On the political front, 56% were completely unaware of the union-backed Preserving the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act), which has already passed the U.S. House and is pending in the Senate.
