AB 525, the California Franchise Relations Act has again reached Governor Jerry Brown’s desk for his signature, only this time we would expect him to sign it!  The legislation, which restores some semblance of balance to the franchise relationship, was approved unanimously by both the state senate and the assembly on final votes of 37-0 and 71-0, respectively.  In view of the overwhelming support for the final bill in both branches, we expect it to become law.  Notwithstanding unanimous votes, “it’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings” as the old saying goes, so we encourage all to submit a letter to Governor Brown urging him to sign the legislation.  You can do so here on CFA Votes.  Brown vetoed similar legislation at the 11th hour last year.
