Dunkin’ Donuts, Lexington’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, is teaming up with the American Red Cross and Coach John Calipari’s “Hoops for Haiti” program with a special in-store fundraising initiative. For every dozen donuts sold at Lexington Dunkin’ Donuts locations between Jan. 25-31, $1 will be donated to the American Red Cross and go toward supporting the ongoing relief and recovery efforts in Haiti.
“We have been greatly humbled by the disaster in Haiti and even more so by the overwhelming response from the people of central Kentucky during Coach Cal’s ‘Hoops for Haiti’ Telethon,” said Collier Mills, franchisee and operating partner of Fast Break Doughnuts, LLC. “Our crew members wanted to help the relief efforts—and this is a small way for us to get involved from afar.”
“We are delighted to be in partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts and so many other great organizations in our community,” said Winn Stephens, director of development for the Bluegrass Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. “The outpouring of support we have received has been truly amazing. Contributions like those being made by Dunkin’ Donuts will help save lives and make a difference.”
