The Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation Donates $175,000 to Support the Feeding America BackPack Program

The Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation today announced a $175,000 grant to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. The funds will be used to support the BackPack Program, which provides food to hungry children at times when other resources are not available, such as weekends and school vacations. The backpacks filled with nutritious, child-friendly food will be distributed in 14 markets throughout the country, including Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Hartford, Long Island, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Providence, San Diego and Tampa.

Tonawanda Fire Department Receives Grant from Dunkin’ Donuts Community Foundation

The City of Tonawanda Fire Department Explorer Post recently received a $5,000 grant from Dunkin’ Brand Corporation, one of 10 recipients across the country. The National Volunteer Fire Council, in partnership with the Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation, selected the Tonawanda Fire Department for its outstanding junior firefighter program, part of the National Junior Firefighter program. Dunkin’ Donuts Rescues Toys for Tots

The Record reports that after news that a Wall Street sponsor had to forfeit its annual donation to the Toys for Tots holiday train, Dunkin’ Donuts on Monday donated $20,000 to keep the train fueled up with toys for 2009. The money from Dunkin’ Donuts will be used to directly purchase as many as 30,000 toys for this year’s collection and support the Holiday Toy Train’s 2009 run across 12 communities from Binghamton to Albany to Plattsburgh.
