In a letter sent two weeks ago to Lina Kahn, the Chairwoman of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Coalition of Franchisee Associations (CFA) urged that the agency consider the many comments submitted by franchisees during the public comment period and to await the conclusion of an ongoing review by the General Accountability Office (GAO). That review involves taking a much closer look at the many issues related to franchising including the inadequacies of the current Franchise Rule as well as the many concerns raised by franchisees surrounding the lack of meaningful enforcement of the rule by the FTC. In addition to Dunkin’ franchisee John Motta signing the letter in his capacity as Chairman of the CFA, the letter was also signed by American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD) Chairman Bob Purvin along with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) Chairman Nishant (Neal) Patel.
