In light of the bad weather in Brazil these past few months, it is likely that coffee prices will be on the rise once again. There was a sustained drought during the growing season and then damaging flooding during the harvest. Arabica coffee prices surged 94% this past month to a high of $2.144 on the New York futures market. It is projected that the Brazilian harvest will be up to 7 million bags short of January’s forecast of 55 million and 5 million below last year’s total of 53.3 million bags
