Just over one week ago, Starbucks CFO Pat Grismer presented at the Piper Jaffray 2019 Consumer Marketplace Conference and in terms of US news, he noted the nitro rollout throughout the balance of the US would be completed by September. He also reported that they were working on store footprint portfolio changes, such as drive-thru only stores replacing older cafes.  It was clear they are still spending effort at the store level explaining the new Rewards program to lapsed guests. Field trips by our restaurant analyst reveal some prior Rewards members were kicked off the system during the transition. In political news, we noted that former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has suspended his erstwhile 2020 presidential campaign for the time being. Shultz plans to revisit the question and make a final decision after the Labor Day holiday.
