Having been targeted over the past however many months by SEIU, Fight for $15, and the #Me Too Movement, McDonalds is heading into a more educational mode. The Golden Arches announced that it will launch a new series of educational training programs over the next few months with a focus on creating “healthy relationships and trusting work environments.” The interactive, computer-based training will formally begin next month and will focus specifically on 5 broad training categories. These will include mitigating workplace violence, safe and respectful workplace, unconscious bias training, anti-bullying education and bystander training. The company, which hopes to process some 850,000 restaurant employees through the training, also announced that it has enhanced existing discrimination, harassment and retaliation prevention policies and established a free hotline for franchisees to get help with these areas.
