Panera, owned by JAB Holdings, made headlines this week with its launch of a new coffee subscription service nationwide. According to the company, subscribers, who must be loyalty members, will pay a monthly fee of $8.99 and be eligible for a “free” hot or iced coffee or tea every 2 hours. Starbucks also recently announced a new launch in the Ready-To-Drink space. In partnership with Pepsi-cola, Starbucks is launching an RTD Nitro Cold Brew that will sell for $3.49 and up in retail outlets. The new RTD product will be available in three flavors: Black, Sweet Cream and Dark Caramel. Starbuck has been partnered with Pepsi since 1994 when they joined together to form the North American Coffee Partnership.
