Restaurant Brands International, parent company of Burger King and Tim Horton’s, has announced an agreement with Seven Invest anointing the latter as the exclusive area representative for Tim Hortons in Cincinnati.  Under the agreement, Seven Invest is charged with responsibility for managing the Cincinnati market and sourcing third-party franchisees for more than 150 new Tim Hortons shops over the next decade.  In other news, we noted last week more calls to see Yum Brands Inc. broken up in the wake of disappointing earnings due to sluggish results from their China outlets.  Yum shares dropped by about 19% in the wake of the earnings call with analysts.  Lastly, we also read this story from the Chicago Business Journal reporting that basketball superstar LeBron James is apparently parting ways with McDonald’s as one of the endorsers of the golden arches.  King James is a Blaze Fast- Fire’d Pizza franchisee with stores in both Miami and Chicago.  As such, he’s decided that any food endorsements he makes should be for the pizza chain that has 88 locations currently with plans to open as many as 200.
