A California judge will hear another lawsuit against Starbucks in which the company is accused of under-filling its beverages.  This time, their latte is the cup of contention with plaintiffs alleging that a 16 ounce cup is only intentionally filled about 75%.  The latte class action follows a cold beverage class action filed in April by a Chicago woman.  It may not directly impact Dunkin’ franchise owners, but we did note that Dean Foods has acquired Friendlys Ice Cream, another iconic Massachusetts company.  Dean Foods has been in an alliance with Baskin Robbins for many years, providing BR franchisees with their ice cream stock.  McDonald’s came in on the bottom of the aforementioned ACSI, but its all-day breakfast launch was largely credited with bumping up their final rating by 3%.  We noted this week that Nebraska-based coffee franchise Scooters Coffee has completed acquisition of Coffeesmiths, a local company with three Cedar Rapids stores.
