Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz landed on the cover of Time Magazine in this month’s edition with a story headlined “What Starbucks Knows About America”. Also, in an agreement with the Seattle company, Delta Airlines began serving Starbucks coffee this month on all of their flights worldwide. Georgia-based Chick-fill-A has apparently jumped into the free coffee pool now. For the month of February, the company will be giving away a free 12-ounce hot or 16-ounce iced coffee at all of their stores nationwide “while supplies last”. Elsewhere in the world of coffee, we noted that a North Carolina company, Coffee Crate has launched a coffee subscription service. Crates shipped by the Durham-based firm will include samples of locally-sourced coffee.
