Starbucks announced earlier this week that it had opened its first deaf-friendly store in the US in Washington DC. The store, located near Gallaudet University at 6th and H Streets, employs between 20 and 25 deaf or hard of hearing workers, each of whom is proficient in American Sign Language (ASL). McDonalds also reported earnings this week with domestic same store sales rose 2.4 percent (compared to 4.1 Q3 last year). The company acknowledged that its breakfast share continues to slip and in response, has pushed new breakfast deals to its $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu. In addition, it announced it is adding a new sandwich to its breakfast menu beginning next week on November 1. The “Triple Breakfast Stack” is the first new addition to their breakfast menu since 2013.
