The US House last week voted to approve legislation that kills the NLRB “ambush election rule” that simplifies and expedites unionizing efforts.  The House vote, 232 – 186, essentially fell along party lines and follows a similar party-line vote in the Senate earlier this month.  The bill invokes a rarely used Congressional power to challenge administrative regulations via the Congressional Review Act whereby Congress can express its displeasure with agency regulations.  If the President vetoes the action as he has threatened, the “ambush” rule will remain in effect.
