The minimum wage in Connecticut increased by $1 per hour on September 1 but we overlooked our note to remind our readers of the increase and we apologize for missing that opportunity. Coming next Thursday, October 1st however, Connecticut’s new anti-harassment requirement kicks in and we want you to be fully prepared. By that date, all employers must provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to all supervisors and for those employers with three or more employees, to all employees! Additionally, new employees must be provided with the same information within their first three months of employment. The Connecticut Commission of Human Rights and Opportunities is charged with enforcement of the Time’s Up Act and it has produced and made available an interactive online training video with which businesses can ensure they are in compliance.
