We are thrilled to bring the “home-court advantage” to Connecticut for the DDIFO National Conference with the addition of Connecticut House minority leader Themis Klarides (R-Derby). Klarides, who has represented the 114th Connecticut district in the legislature since 1999, was selected just last week as one of the top 25 Women in Government Leadership by Governing Institute. She was one of the chief architects of Connecticut’s recently passed bipartisan two-year state budget and is largely believed to be the frontrunner for the 2018 republican nomination for Governor of Connecticut. Klarides will National Restaurant Association Vice President of Government Affairs Cicely Simpson and DDIFO Massachusetts lobbyist Joseph Giannino on the DDIFO Panel moderated by Dunkin’ Donuts Government Affairs Committee co-chairman Rob Branca. By the way, recently chosen as the least favorite Governor in the country, lame-duck Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy vetoed the budget yesterday!
