The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) may only be one week old, but the Department of Labor has already issued a further guidance on the law that effectively changes some of the provisions of the statute. For openers, the latest DOL Guidance states that the law now takes effect on April 1st and that any prior guidance about it being effective April 2 should be disregarded. In addition, DOL has also issued a poster and is requiring that every covered employer post and distribute it so that employees are aware of the leave that may be available to them through the end of this year as a result of the pandemic. This latest guidance is supplemental to information put out by the Wage and Hour Division earlier this week in its Fact Sheet for Employees, Fact Sheet for Employers and Questions & Answers page.
