As if sticking it to business through the aforementioned overtime rule wasn’t enough transformation, Deputy Secretary of Labor Chris Lu came to Massachusetts last week to advocate for the adoption of mandated paid family and medical leave for all employees.  The administration’s push for national paid sick leave mandates has not gotten any traction in the republican-controlled Congress, so now administration personnel will be branching out to advocate for individual state paid leave mandates.  We’re well-advised not to take this effort lightly as it’s the same M.O. used on minimum wage increases – and you can read below how that effort still is forcing minimum wage hikes at state and local levels!
