Despite the fact that we will have a new President assuming office in January and before we jump into the rest of the election day updates, we again advise you to pay close attention and prepare to comply with the DOL overtime rules set to take effect on December 1.  As we have reported in the past, there are a number of lawsuits in play that seek to overturn the new regulation and Congress has legislation under consideration that would accomplish the same goal, but notwithstanding, most legal observers recommend that employers assume the rules will take effect on December 1 and prepare to comply.  Toward that end, we thought this article from the Albany Business Journal contained some helpful hints and suggestions that may better prepare you for compliance.  Now, let’s talk election results . . .
