“Dunkin’ Runs Green!” could be the next catchphrase for the brand in light of its completing the difficult global transition it announced two years ago – switching its complete inventory from the iconic polystyrene foam cups to double-walled paper cups for all of its hot beverages. The new cups are certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Standard. In other ‘green news’, Dunkin’ also announced that it was on track to fully transition to recyclable hot coffee cup lids in the US by the end of this summer. And having already met another green goal announced in 2016 – the opening of 500 DD Green Achievement restaurants by the end of this summer, the company has set a new goal of 1,000 DD Green Achievement stores by the end of 2025! And finally, DDIFO wants to congratulate Ryan Schaffer on his recent promotion to vice president and managing counsel. In his new position Schaffer, who has been with Dunkin’ for eight years, will lead a team responsible for a host of critical functions including corporate governance, SEC reporting and compliance and investor relations among others.
