Dunkin’ Donuts will donate $15,000 to crime prevention programs as a way to thank law enforcement for arresting the men charged with robbing shops in Broward and Palm Beach counties in late November.
The chain’s Community Foundation will donate $10,000 to Broward County Crime Stoppers to support the Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program operated by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Youth Intervention and Enforcement Division. Dunkin’ Donuts also will donate $5,000 to the South Florida Crime Commission, a group that supports crime-prevention programs.
A check presentation gathering will be held at 11 a.m. at Dunkin’ Donuts, at 2609 N. Dixie Highway.
“Dunkin’ Brands is truly grateful for the diligent work of local law enforcement and pleased to make a $15,000 donation to support crime prevention programs in South Florida,” Steve Caldeira said in a prepared statement. He’s a spokesman at Dunkin’ Brands Inc. and co-chairman of the Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation.
