The Record reports that U.S. Marines and Dunkin’ Donuts franchises celebrated the holiday spirit during a huge shopping spree Monday at Toys R Us to purchase toys for the Toys for Tots Holiday Train for its annual trip through the state.

The shopping trip was made possible by a $20,000 donation to the Toys for Tots Foundation by Dunkin’ Donuts for use to purchase toys for needy children from Binghamton to Albany to Plattsburgh.

A team of volunteers hit the store store running Monday leaving with carts full of toys and infant equipment and a several foot long cash register tape.

The holiday train will make its way from Binghamton on Dec. 5, arriving in Albany at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 6 and winding up in Plattsburgh at 3:45 p.m. Dec. 6.
