The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission must like being in the headlines because the agency is issuing new rules and regulations left and right over the past few weeks. In short order recently, EEOC issued three new fact sheets addressing equal pay issues and pregnancy discrimination. The documents, released for the White House State of Women Conference can be accessed here on the EEOC website. But, it didn’t stop there. The federal agency also issued new fines and penalties for violations of the notice posting requirements in Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as we as the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), bumping up the cost for violations from the current $210 to $525 effective July 1.
