The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has set the new filing deadline for the 2018 EEO-1 Report as March 31, 2019. Previously, the annual deadline was September 30 of the following fiscal year (for example, September 30, 2017 for the 2017 reports), but the commission wanted to loosen some of the requirements imposed by the Obama administration and push the deadline off. The EEO-1 survey is required of all employers with 100 or more employees as well as federal contractors and subcontractors with 50 or more employees and a federal contract or subcontract of at least $50,000 annually. The EEOC anticipates that the 2018 survey will open in early 2019 and will advise employers of the actual timeline by letter in January.
