In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the havoc it continues to wreak on the US economy, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has suspended requirements for the filing of the EEO-1 report until March of 2021. Previously, all private employers with 100 or more employees were required by federal regulation to annually file an EEO-1 report detailing the company employment data categorized by race/ethnicity, gender and job category. Beginning in September 2019 however, the EEO-1 report no longer included a pay data component, so employers will not be required to submit pay information with their 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 data. Further, due to the continuing challenges of COVID-19, the deadline for submission of the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 data is now postponed to next March.
