I suspect that all of our readers are aware that next Tuesday, November 8 is Election Day across the country – but, at this address, we believe it too important to leave your participation to chance.  There is no other way, nor better time, to influence public policy than by exercising your constitutional right to vote next week.  Your business is impacted by so many policies that elected officials put in place, oftentimes without fully considering the consequences of the actions they are taking.  Educating our public officials falls to the businessmen and women who are most affected by their policies and that’s you!  The late long-time Speaker of the US House of Representatives Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neil famously said “All politics is local.” That statement is as true today as it was when Tip uttered it back in the 70’s.  With minimum wage questions (4 states), mandated sick leave, increased taxes, soda taxes, sugary drink bans and a host of other issues on state and local ballots across the nation, it is incumbent upon us all to get out and vote!
