This week, we received an advisory from the United States Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS). In it, the USCIS acknowledged that all current iterations of the Employment Eligibility Verification form, Form I-9, (English, Basic and Spanish) contain an expiration date of October 31, 2022 – just two weeks away. Notwithstanding, employers should continue using the current form until further notice. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will publish a Federal Register notice to announce a new version of the Form I-9 once it becomes available.
