There were only a handful of locations mandating face coverings just a few months ago, but now it is more the rule than the exception. Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in Florida are just the latest to now mandate facemasks be worn in public as the virus continues to spike in a number of southern and southwestern states. Elsewhere, a statewide face covering mandate took effect in Oregon on July 1. Charged with enforcing the order of Governor Kate Brown, the Oregon OSHA in the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs recently issued a new advisory memo for employers to follow. The Oregon Health Authority, which also exercises some control over business compliance with COVID-19 mandates, also released a detailed guidance last week on a host of coronavirus requirements.
