Well, the federal requirement for menu labeling, passed into law as part of the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care) back in 2010, may have been delayed for another year, but New York City is scheduled to begin enforcing its own labeling mandate next Monday. That fact was enough for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to join an effort urging the federal court to issue an injunction against the new law. Technically, the New York mandate became effective back in May with enforcement scheduled to become effective next week. The federal menu labeling requirement was delayed until next year by the Trump administration just before it was to become effective on May 5 of this year.
