The initial confirmation hearing on the nomination of Alexander Acosta as President Trump’s Labor Secretary has been scheduled. The Senate Committee on Health Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) has scheduled the first of its Acosta confirmation hearings for 1:30 next Wednesday in the Dirksen Senate Office building. President Trump’s initial nominee, CKE Restaurant CEO Andy Puzder withdrew his name from consideration after several weeks of delays amid a torrent of negative press relating to his personal as well as professional life. Acosta has served in several presidential administrations and has been confirmed by the Senate three times already in his professional career.
