The Internal Revenue Services (IRS) has extended the due date for distributing 2017 health coverage information forms to employees. The deadline, originally set for January 31 has now been extended to March 2, 2018. Self-insured employers and all employers with 50 or more full-time equivalent employees now have until March 2, 2018, to provide Form 1095-B,Health Coverage, or Form 1095-C, Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, to employees covered by the employer’s health plan. You should also note that the IRS has not extended the due date for employers, insurers, and other providers of minimum essential coverage to file 2017 Forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C, and 1095-C. At the current time and unless further changes are announced, the filing due date for these forms remains February 28, 2018 (April 2, 2018, if filing electronically).
