Launched in 2007, the Coalition of Franchisee Associations ( CFA) works, “to leverage the collective strengths of franchisee associations for the benefit of the franchisee community.” At the CFA, we have been promoting our Second Annual CFA Day Forum. The Forum is a three-day event in Washington, DC that brings franchisees across many different brands and their vendor business partners together to network; discuss business tactics and best practices; and to actively participate in government relations through meetings with members of Congress.

In 2009, franchisees and franchisee association leaders gathered in our nation’s capital along with their vendor business partners for the Inaugural CFA Day Forum. Many well-known and respected brands were represented at the Forum, and this was the first time in history representatives from different brands stood together as one to advocate on behalf of the entire franchisee community. Speakers included industry experts on business practices, market trends, and government affairs. One of the most prominent speakers was nationally renowned political insider and columnist William Kristol. Mr. Kristol gave an insiders perspective on the state of American politics and insights that only a person with his years of experience could provide.

The 2010 line-up of presenters and speakers is sure to rival, if not surpass, last years event. Franchisees can look forward to a bigger and better CFA Day Forum. Perhaps the most noteworthy event planned during the 2010 CFA Day Forum will be franchisees and their business partners going to Capitol Hill to meet with their congressional representatives to advocate their issues, present a united front in the fight against harmful anti-business legislation and promote the issues that positively affect business owners across the country.
