They’ve been moving closer and closer over the past couple of weeks with several preliminary approvals, but this past Wednesday, the LA City Council gave its final approval to a $15/hour minimum wage and sent it to the Mayor for his signature.  By a vote of 12 – 1, the City Council increased the minimum wage in the City of Angels by a whopping 66 per cent!  The increase will happen over time with the wage first increasing from the current $9/hour to $10.50 effective July, 2016.  Subsequently, it will rise to $12 in 2017, $13.25 the following year, $14.25 in 2019 and hitting $15 in 2020.  Mayor Eric Garcetti will sign the bill into law.  Now, will there be a commensurate increase in the value of the work being performed??
