Maine Governor Paul LePage, arguably bringing tax reform initiatives to a new level, threatened to use his veto power on all legislation dealing with tax exemptions and tax breaks that the legislature sends him until such time as they take some kind of action on his own tax reform package that the Governor filed at the beginning of the year.  He made the veto threat in a speech last week just two days after he vetoes three tax exemptions bills, arguing that the legislature grants too many tax exemptions to special interests.  The three bills he vetoes were the first three bills passed by the legislature this session, so it would appear the Governor means what he says!
