Speaking of Massachusetts laws, the front group behind many of the minimum wage issues in the state, Raise Up Massachusetts, is also pushing a new ballot initiative that seeks to impose a Millionaire’s Tax on those individuals earning $1 million or more per year.  The group held a rally earlier this week at the State House announcing that they had collected over 157,000 signatures allegedly in support of the constitutional amendment.  According to the Department of Revenue, the proposal would raise the tax rate on incomes over $1 million to 9 percent and would generate almost $2 billion from the 19,500 individuals who would be punished for being successful.  There are still a number of obstacles the proponents must overcome before it can go on the ballot in 2018.
