Massachusetts voters this fall will be faced with the question of whether or not the state government should mandate that private employers provide paid sick or family leave for employees.  The ballot question provides that employees will earn an hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours.  The broader business community opposes the proposal as too costly and plans to fight it at the polls.  The legislature deliberated the issue, but opted not to mandate the leave.
