The debate over minimum wages shows no sign of abating anytime soon as the push for endless increases spreads.  In both New York and California, the minimum wage increases we reported to you last week were signed into law by the respective governors, Andrew Cuomo in New York and Jerry Brown in California.  Incredibly, after signing the new law, Brown matter-of-factly acknowledged that increasing the state minimum wage made no sense economically, but went on to explain that “morally and socially and politically, they make every sense because it binds the community together and makes sure that parents can take care of their kids in a much more satisfactory way.”  We can’t make this stuff up!
