As one would expect, Americans have the greatest confidence in our military men and women, but small business this year actually came in a (relatively) close second. Gallup reported earlier this month that some 72% of Americans were confident in the Armed Forces as an institution, while 67% had “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in American small business. Next closest was the police at 52%. At the other end of the spectrum – and it will be of no surprise to anyone – is Congress at an anemic 8%! And they’re making laws to mandate how small business must function?? In another report released earlier this month, it was projected that over the course of the next ten years, the food industry will balloon to a total of $2 trillion in annual sales! The report, entitled: “Food Industry Transformation: The Next Decade” and released by research firm Technomic, provides insights into the evolution of the food industry and consumer behavioral trends, among other topics.
