We’ve all been keeping a close eye on unionizing efforts across the fast food industry, so we took note a few weeks ago when it was reported that workers at Winnipeg Taco Bell and KFC shops had formally unionized, becoming the first QSRs to unionize in all of Canada.  Krispy Kreme CFO Price Cooper left the Winston-Salem based donut shop last week after having assumed the CFO position in April.  The former Texas Roadhouse executive joined Krispy Kreme in January of 2015.  Jack-in-the-Box has launched a new platform they’re calling “brunchfast” with an array of new items that will now be available throughout the day to go along with their breakfast items which have long been available all day.  Lastly, we noted a few weeks back that Chick-fil-A, the Atlanta-based chicken chain announced that it is more than doubling its employee scholarship program, earmarking $4.9 million for the program in 2017.  Chick-fil-A has been providing scholarships to its employees for more than 40 years.
