Well, clearly the JAB Holdings acquisition of Panera Bread is some pretty big news, especially in light of the persistent rumors of the past several weeks that JAB was positioning to buy Dunkin’ Brands, but we’ll leave that story to the bigger news outlets. We thought it more prudent to relate the recently released state tax burden rankings from two independent organizations, The Tax Foundation and consumer research firm WalletHub. The latter released their annual findings a few weeks ago, while the Tax Foundation unveiled theirs just this week. Both reports rank all 50 states and the District of Columbia by tax burden per capita among other measures. New York was the most burdensome state in both reports!
