We noted that for the 9th year in a row, Dunkin’ was king of the Big Apple. According to a report from the Center for an Urban Future, Dunkin’ tops out with a total of 612 stores across New York City, an increase of 16 stores over their 2016 city-leading total. And, there seems to be good news for the patrons of those 600 plus stores (as well as the other 8200 Dunkins in the world) on coffee consumption coming from a report released last month by international research firm, BMJ. The organization, which began as a medical journal in 1840 reported that drinking moderate amounts of coffee, which it defined as 3 or 4 cups per day, is more likely to benefits one’s health than harm it. Further, the study found a lower risk of both cirrhosis and cancer of the liver amongst coffee drinkers.
