Small business confidence continues to build according to the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) as their monthly optimism index for February rose to a total score of 107.6, one of the highest ever. Respondents’ confidence was up across all of the 10 categories that the survey measures, with the one significant red flag being the tightness of the labor market and its inherent difficulties for small businesses to find the employees it needs. In the latest beauty pageant for which states are most attractive for a host of reasons, Iowa topped the list in US News & World Report annual ranking of Best States. Minnesota, Utah, North Dakota and New Hampshire rounded out the top 5. The ranking measures states’ appeal in 8 categories ranging from Quality of Life to Health Care and Fiscal Stability among others. Lastly, we’d like to congratulate National DCP Chief Commercial Officer Roland Ornelas on his being named to the 2018 Food Logistics’ Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain! Keep up the good work, Roland!
